Markus(VLM042) was born on February 4, 2001 in the Lazuli. His mother was Royal and his father was Gothic, a rover from the Zappa. His litter-mates were his brother Milton(VLM040) and sister Freeda(VLF041). Not long after Markus was born, another female named Buttercup gave birth to a litter of three pups. All six pups survived their first few weeks and started foraging with the adults. Sadly Freeda was predated along with one of Buttercup's pups Shuka in March. The Lazuli were a large group so even though the pups were not the dominant female Sahara's, the pups survived their first few months. Markus played a low key role in the Lazuli till he reach a year of age. Then Markus started to help out with babysitting and taking a sentry post. His mother soon disappeared. Markus is still alive today in the Lazuli.
